Autumn Trends For A Gathering To Remember

Hygge. The Danish word (pronounced hue-guh) has risen to popularity over the past year with it’s promise of comfort and coziness that are almost synonymous with the fall. With the shortening days and cooling weather we were inspired to put together a guide to hosting an Autumnal gathering. Here is what you will need:

1. AMBIENCE

You want your table to feel informal yet create a sense of intimacy. We suggest bringing the party outdoor! Now that the summer heat is over, enjoying the fresh night air while dining under the stars is a simple way to create an awe filled experience.

Set the mood with the perfect lighting! We love the look of rope lights. A few strands tastefully placed can enhance your surroundings.

Add to the ambience with a few chunky candles on the table. We suggest candles scented with essential oils. Our favorite combination are: Lavender and Rosemary, not only do they smell amazing but they also help keep pesky mosquitoes away!

Lastly you want to make sure your guests are comfortable. Providing a few throw blankets and ponchos will keep everyone comfy and cozy when the temperature takes a dip.

2. APPETIZERS

The gorgeous spread will act as an edible decoration to your table! We’ve put together the ultimate guide for creating your own antipasto spread. Click through to our blog to learn more!

3. WINE

wineAn intimate dinner just isn’t complete without wine! Although everyone has their own preference between the multiple varieties, we suggest a white Italian wine for your festivities. Falanghina combines distinct floral, mineral and bright acidity for a pleasantly balanced taste that compliments our main dish.

4. FOOD

For the main course we’ve chosen a delectable butternut squash and goat cheese ravioli with browned butter and oregano bread crumbs and sliced fresh figs. The recipe is relatively easy to follow, though we suggest giving yourself some time if you are making your own pasta dough! To recreate this dish check out the recipe!
