The list goes on! It is a bit intimidating when you start looking at all the little mistakes you can make when hosting a party. You shouldn’t have to worry for a minute though, most of these are simple to avoid or easy to correct.
Consider your Community
Don’t forget to think about your neighbors and your community when you are hosting a party, especially if you are not intending on inviting them. Nothing will ruin the vibe of a party faster than an upset neighbor stopping by to complain about the noise or all the extra cars parked in the neighborhood. As a common courtesy, go through the neighborhood the day before and let people know you are going to be having a party. You may need to let the home owner’s association know as well. Depending on how plans of your party are received, you may even decide to add a few people to the guest list!
Plan for Everyone’s Needs
A considerate party planner will think ahead and try to cater to everyone’s needs. Are any vegetarian or vegan guests going to be attending? Make sure they have something they can eat! They will get grumpy very quickly if they are going hungry while everyone else is chowing down and having a good time. If it is an adult party, plan on providing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Variety is key, unless you are sure your guests enjoy creative or unordinary dishes, try to serve food that has wide appeal. It is hard to feel bad for picky eaters, but they are people too!
